Our Story

Long before we officially became ‘Renaissance Security Services Ltd’ in 2006 and even before we traded as ‘Renaissance Security Services’ in 1996, we had a vision of what professional security would look like.

From many years spent working in venues around Dublin City Centre, we discovered a friendly word spoken at the right time or a strong, calm, authoritative presence could prevent an unpleasant or dangerous incident from happening.

Today, over twenty years later with hundreds of hours of training, experience and expertise behind us, that simple lesson still guides us. Knowing when to intervene and what appropriate action to take remains the cornerstone of how we provide security.

 

Meet our Management Team

Eric Boles – M.Sec.1.1 Managing Director

imageEric cut his working teeth very early in one of Dublin’s leading theatre venues where his mother was manager. Even as a teenager working behind the scenes or out front dealing with customers, Eric realised excellent customer service and a smoothly run business make for a successful venture.

When Eric set up Renaissance Security in 1996, he created a company committed to providing expert security solutions designed to protect and enhance his client’s business. With over twenty years experience in security management at senior level, Eric understands security can never be at the expense of the customer’s comfort and wellbeing. ‘We believe security is about providing a strong, calm presence that allows people to go about their business, knowing we have everything under control’.

Eric is currently Vice-Chairman of the Event and Entertainment division of ISIA (Irish Security Industry Association).

Catherine Boles-Heffernan – CIA Company Director

imageCatherine has been with us since 1996, providing organisational expertise and customer service as the National Business Services Manager.

In 2008, Catherine was appointed Company Director and with a background in Internal Audit, she ensures good Corporate Governance is at the heart of all our strategic practices. ‘Our clients know they are doing business with a company fully compliant with Industry Regulations and that gives them peace of mind’.

Liam Heffernan – M.Sec.1.1 National Operations Manager

Liam joined us in 2002 and for the last ten years has ensured that all services and operations are carried out to the highest level of professionalism and diplomacy. As a qualified trainer with the Security Institute of Ireland, Liam knows how to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the staff under his remit.

Gavin Kelly – M.Sec.1.1 National Client Service Manager

With us since 1997 and with his background in Human Resources, Gavin knows that the success of every company lies with the effective management of its resources. Gavin ensures that the right person for the job is chosen every time, tailoring each assignment to the needs of each, individual client.

Gerard Callanan – Training and Event Manager

With over seven years experience in the field of security, Gerard joined in 2012, bringing energy and enthusiasm to his role as Training and Event Manager.
